Direct bonded MgO-CaO brick have demonstrated outstanding performance in the AOD and MRP converters and VOD ladles for the production of Stainless steel.

Their features include high hot strength, good volume stability at temperatures above 1600C and excellent resistance to basic slags.

YNCR uses high quality MgO-CaO raw materials and specialized process conditions   to produce high quality brick (Syn-Dol GT30 & GT50) for use in the production of stainless steel.

 

Syn-Dol GT30: A high fired, direct bonded, MgO-CaO brick designed for zoning in the trunnions, slag lines and tuyere zones of AOD converters and in the slag lines of VOD ladles.  The product has low porosity and permeability which results in excellent slag resistance.   In addition the product possesses very good high temperature strength, thermal shock resistance and volume stability.

 

Syn-Dol GT50: A high fired, direct bonded, MgO-CaO brick designed for general  purpose use in AOD converters.  The product has low porosity and permeability for good slag resistance. 

 
 

YNCR can provide several qualities of tempered MgO-CaO bricks.  These brick are formulated with MgO-CaO grain, graphite and resin. After curing the resin provides a strong bond and at higher temperatures the resin bond develops into a carbon bond that gives the brick good high temperature   properties, thermal shock resistance and slag resistance.  The bricks are typically used in stainless steel ladles, VODs and carbon steel ladle.

 

MGT-R173:  A resin bonded, 3% carbon, MgO-CaO brick designed for use in stainless steel and carbon steel ladles. In addition it can be applied in AOD cone. The product has excellent high temperature strength, slag resistance and volume stability.

 

MGT-R176:  A resin bonded, 6% carbon, MgO-CaO brick designed for use in stainless steel and carbon steel ladles. The product has good high temperature properties, slag resistance, thermal shock resistance and abrasion resistance. Due to the combination of these properties the product is often applied in ladle impact areas.

YNCR has developed a range of MgO-CaO monolithic products that can be provided to complete the lining installation in the various Steel vessels.  These monolithics are compatible with MgO-CaO and MgO based brick and are used where high temperature resistance and compatibility with basic slags is required.

 

Syn-Dol GT50 Ram: An MgO-CaO monolithic material designed for use as a backfill and as a leveling material in steel production units such as AOD converters and ladles. 

Syn-Dol GT50 Ram FG: An MgO-CaO monolithic ramming material that is designed for use in steel production units such as AOD converters and ladles.

Syn-Dol GT20 Ram Plus: An MgO-CaO monolithic ramming material that is designed for use in steel production units such as AOD converters and ladles. The ramming material develops good strength after curing and at intermediate temperatures. 

Syn-Dol GT20 Plastic: An MgO-CaO monolithic plastic material that is designed for use in steel     production units such as AOD converters and ladles.  The material has outstanding ramming characteristics, good intermediate and high temperature properties and is compatible with basic slags.

Syn-Dol GT50 Fines:An MgO-CaO monolithic material with a fine particle size designed for filling gaps behind brick that are less than 5mm in width and for leveling MgO - CaO brick in steel production vessels such as AODs, and ladles.
